May 3 - 7, 2021

We have six weeks left in the fourth quarter. Please make sure to read Mrs. Gengozian’s messages as well as any of our newsletters so that you are informed about any end-of-the-year activities and/or procedures. Our synchronous learning seems to be moving along smoothly with our in-person students doing a great job with masks. I would still LOVE to see more of our online students, so cameras are highly encouraged! 😊

Progress Reports - Progress reports will be sent (or have already been sent) to your child’s email. You can also look at ATLAS and see current grades and any work that is missing or incomplete.

I-Ready Assessment – Since SBAC (California State Testing) will not be taking place this year, we will be using the i-Ready assessment to measure student growth. It is imperative that we have 100 percent of the students complete this assessment. I have the reading portion of the test scheduled for Wednesday, May 12 and the math portion for May 14. We will start the tests during the first block of time and students will be given ample time to finish.

Substitute – I have a substitute reserved for Wednesday – Friday of this week. She will be with the in-person and online students. Our schedule will stay that same as it currently is, and the students should expect to work just as they would do if I was in the class. I will be the one correcting their work each day, so you may still see chats from me on Teams if I have not seen work completed or have questions.

Materials – We still have some students (much fewer than before) who are not able to find or do not bring the work they need for class. Please double-check the list and backpacks daily before your child comes to in-person classes so that he/she is prepared. The list can be found in their Hybrid Group Chat and in our General Channel. Thank you to those of you who are already doing this.

Hybrid Group C – Please make sure to read the newsletters to see when items need to be dropped off or picked up. I will always give you plenty of lead time so you can make it work in your schedule.

Thank you for your continued support!

Lanie Huene
