Classroom Newsletter – March 22-26, 2021

End of Quarter 3 – Quarter 3 has come to a close! I included a copy of your child’s report card in the materials that were picked up on Friday, March 19, or getting picked up on Monday, March 22.

Materials Pick-Up – Please make sure to pick up your child’s materials this Monday if you did not already pick them up on Friday. The folder contains art materials, a math fraction garden activity, our WordMaster list, username and password information for our CAASP testing, and your child’s report card.

Schedule Changes – This is our last week in the current live meeting schedule. Starting April 6, we will be following a different schedule for our class meeting times. You can find the schedule on our website, the FUSD website, and on your child’s Teams calendar. (It is also attached below.)

Spring Break – We will not have school from March 29 – April 5. Students will return to online instruction on Tuesday, April 6.

Hybrid Schedules- If you have chosen the hybrid schedule, you should be hearing from the District soon regarding what days they have scheduled for your child to come in person. The school does not have a say in which days you come to in-person learning, as the lists are created elsewhere based on busing and keeping the number of students equal in each group. As we get closer to in-person instruction, I will be sending information out regarding what it will look like and what students will need. Masks will be required 100 percent of the school day so it may be a good idea to start finding a mask that would be most comfortable for them to wear for the long haul. Materials will also have to travel back and forth, so a good backpack will be necessary as well.

STATE TESTING!! – We have dates for state testing that need them to be put on your calendar. Your child will need a quiet place to work during our testing blocks. I have sent home scratch paper with your child’s username and password which they will need each time we take a test – practice or the real thing. Students will test on a secure browser from their computer whether they are at home or at school that day.

STATE TESTING SCHEDULE FOR ROOM 11:

APRIL 28 – 9:00 session

APRIL 29 – 9:00 and 10:25 sessions

MAY 4 – 9:00 and 10:25 sessions (possibly longer as needed)
