Hard to believe that we are already entering the month of March! There are three weeks left in our third quarter. The students should be spending the first part of each Monday checking ATLAS so they know where their grades stand and what work is still missing. Please encourage your child to stay on top of their work.
If you did not get a chance to take your school picture yet, there will make-ups on March 10 from 3:30-5:30. If you do not like the picture you took you can also use this time to retake your picture.
This Friday, I am going to let the students show their musical talents! At the end of our 1:15 meeting, the students are welcome to stay on and share or listen to their classmates’ as they play a piece for us. This idea came from the students after watching a video about different musical instruments...seems like a fun time.
This week, we will be working on a narrative writing piece. We have spent the last three weeks learning different elements that make for a good narrative and now it is time to bring them all together in one amazing piece of writing. There is a paper in your child’s Narrative Writing packet that spells out the criteria for success – you are encouraged to read through your child’s story and give some one-on-one feedback.
Our substitute teacher from last Friday could not say enough great things about your children and what a joy they were to teach. I wholeheartedly agree with her – we have an incredible group of students that I look forward to seeing every day.
Thank you for all your support,
Lanie Huene
