This week, we will have our second asynchronous Monday. Thank you for having your children log on at 9:00 to start our day off together and give me time to explain their work for the day. The students did a great job completing their work and reaching out to me for any help. Please remind your child to start the work as soon as we log off at 9:30! The day is supposed to be set aside as a normal school day, but your child will be working independently. They should not be waiting until the afternoon to begin the assignments, as it will feel overwhelming.
A few dates to note:
Monday, February 8 – Holiday
Monday, February 15 – Holiday
Wednesday, February 17 – Materials pick-up for our Rancho Day/Materials
I need some help with making sure your children are completing their science assignments on time. They have assignment cards from Mr. Pullen that can be found each week in the science team. I set aside asynchronous time on Monday and Wednesday for the assignments to get done, but some are struggling to complete them. Thank you for checking ATLAS on a regular basis and looking for any incomplete assignments. If you look at the individual assignment scores, you will see any that have “incomplete” next to them.
Remember that tutor.com is still available through Clever if your child ever needs help on an assignment, wants to get ahead, or wants a piece of writing edited before turning it in. Many students have used it and have come back with positive experiences. I am definitely available through the chat, but sometimes it helps to hear it from someone else.
Thank you for being the eyes and ears on the other side of the computer daily. I absolutely love seeing your children smile as they log on for our meetings!! If your child is not turning on their camera, I cannot stress to you how much this makes a difference for them feeling connected to the class.
Thank you for your support,
Lanie Huene
