Room 11 Classroom Newsletter – December 14-18, 2020
We made it to the final week of our second quarter! Thank you for all the support you have provided during this challenging time. It has definitely been a learning curve for everyone involved. This week, we will be celebrating our accomplishments with a craft day on Friday, December 18.
Supply pick-up/drop-off will be on Monday, December 14 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. PLEASE bring your child’s Pasquala book and Island of the Blue Dolphins book when you come to pick up his/her supplies. I will leave all bags outside of the classroom during the day so that we will have a contact-less pick-up. There will be a box where you can place the reading books you are returning. (Some of you have already returned Island of the Blue Dolphins.
For our craft day on Friday, December 18, your child is encouraged to come to our virtual class in festive holiday attire and/or pajamas! We will have a different holiday book read and craft project for each live class period. I am looking forward to a fun day of crafts with your children. The only supplies they will need, in addition to the bag of supplies you will pick up, are glue, scissors, markers (or colored pencils) and tape.
As you are aware, when we return in January, we will be following a new schedule. Mrs. Gengozian will send information home about these changes. You can also find schedules on Fresno Unified’s website. Most Mondays (except for holidays) the students will meet with me from 9:00-9:30 and then spend quite a bit of time on independent work. Tuesday – Friday, we will meet four times a day, with some independent work assigned to complete in the afternoon. Please look out for communication from the school and the district during the break to make sure your child is ready to go on January 12.
PUT ON YOUR CALENDAR…January 11, 2021 we will have an additional pick-up day for third quarter materials. Your child will need these materials to start the quarter on January 12.
I hope all our Room 11 families have a wonderful holiday season and a fabulous break from computer screens. 😊 I have enjoyed seeing your children each day and watching them grow. It has been a joy to see that learning really can take place in a virtual environment when we are all willing to do the hard work behind it.
Happy Holidays!
