October 26 - 30, 2020

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules last week to meet with me for your parent conferences. I appreciated getting to know your families better and seeing how we can continue to work together to help each child succeed.

This week, there are a few afternoon activities going on that your child will need to be available to participate in.

Monday - Music lessons from 2:05 - 2:30

Wednesday - Groove-A-Thon from 2:00 - 2:30

Friday - Art lesson with Mrs. Layne from 1:00 - 2:00

Mrs. Gengozian sent information about the Groove-A-Thon and collecting pledges on Actionaly. The students are invited to dress up for the entire day on Wednesday if they would like, but it will be a normal academic day.

On November 4, I will have an optional drop-off/pick-up day from 12:45-3:15. You will be able to drop off your child's Island of the Blue Dolphins book, Design an Island creation, and the art project with Mrs. Layne. The art project drop off is completely optional...if your child wants to keep it to have in their house, that is absolutely fine with me. I will have materials available to pick up for an optional weaving project. I will provide the cups and starter yarn, you will need to provide additional yarn to complete the project. If your child earned an academic award first quarter and you have not picked it up from the office by then, I will have that available as well.

Please remember to keep an eye on your child's agenda, Teams account and ATLAS. As we continue on in this eLearn environment, some students are finding the self motivation easy and others need some reminders to finish their independent work in a timely manner. I am grateful to have such a supportive group of families stepping in to help fill that need.

The Manchester library will now be allowing book check-outs. Your child will reserve a book online through Destiny on Clever, and the book will be availabel to pick up at specific times. Please read Mrs. Gengozian's Actionaly messages for more specific information.

Enjoying our eLearn adventure,

Mrs. Huene
