We made it to the beginning of our second quarter of fourth grade...and we did it virtually. Thank you for making this quarter a success for your child by providing support and encouragement at home!! It is my goal that every child is actively involved in our eLearn classroom so that they do not lose this time in their academic career!!

Throughout the first quarter, all assignments (almost all) were given an assignment card in Teams to remind your child to complete the work. This quarter, with our longer pieces of writing, that will not always be the case. We will continue to write in the agenda at the end of the day, listing all independent work that needs to be completed. If your child's agenda does not have something written on every school day, please make sure he/she knows that is an expectation from both of us so you can stay better informed and provide accountability on that end.

Parent conferences will be held during the week of October 19-23. You should have all signed up for a parent conference time slot at this point. If you did not already sign up, I placed a note on the manila envelope that came home with your child's supplies. When it is time for your conference, log in to your child's Teams account and click on the Parent Conference Channel. Once there, click on "Join". You will be in a waiting room, and I will admit you after the conference before yours has finished.

A large number of our students are doing a great job actively participating in class. I love seeing their faces and being able to interact with them with just visual cues. If your child is hiding in the background, they are missing out on the opportunity to be known by their classmates and me. Check with your child and see which category they fall into and encourage participation! When we take tests, cameras are mandatory, not optional. When your child is called on in class, they must unmute and speak. Thank you for understanding the importance of making connections!

Make sure to read the Actionaly messages coming to your email from Mrs. Gengozian regarding this year's Grove-A-Thon. (It is replacing our Fund Run for the year.) There are prizes awarded at specific donation levels.
