Thank you to all all our families who made it to Back to School Night this past week! I greatly appreciate you taking time out of your evening and inviting me into your home. :-) If you were unable to come, please take some time and watch the recorded video on our Back to School Night channel on Teams. I would be happy to send you a link if that would be easier for you. There were many points discussed that would help your child with their eLearning, so please watch it as soon as possible! One important point is that we are offering to loan out our classroom desks if it will help your child have a place to work and store his/her supplies. If you would like one, please send me a Remind message, email, or chat on your child's Teams account so we can arrange a time for you to come pick it up.
Thank you, also, to everyone who has signed up for our classroom Remind for communication. If you have not yet joined, please text @huenegater to 81010. It is a much quicker and easier way to communicate with you individually.
As we conclude our second full week, we appear to be getting accustomed to our new schedule. If you can help your child be at our meeting right at the start time, it will help us get a few more minutes together. With only three 45-minute blocks together each day, every minute counts. Thank you for helping! It would also be incredibly helpful if you can look over your child's assignments tab each evening and make sure all work has been turned in. You may also want to check the chat and see if I have sent a messages regarding incomplete work.
Monday, September 7, is Labor Day, so we will not be meeting as a class. If your child isn't close to finishing their California Adventure Notebook cover, you may want to encourage that to get finished over the long weekend. It is a fun art project that will be attached to their Social Studies journal.
Your child took the i-Ready reading and math placement tests. If you would like to extend the amount of time they are learning at home, you can have them log into i-ready at any time and work on their i-Ready path, The program will start where they tested out and move them along their academic path.
Thank you for joining me on this eLearning journey. Please continue to check your child's assignments and chats on our Teams page. The better informed you are, the more success your child will experience.
Enjoying our room 11 group,
Lanie Huene
