Our first week of school has arrived!! I am hoping that you are excited and ready for this unusual start of our school year. Assure your children that there will be bumps in the road, but we will ride over them together and make it to the other side stronger than before. At the end of this newsletter, I am including some helpful tips to make sure your child is ready to connect. There is a QR code that will take you to some amazing videos if you are feeling a little uncertain about using Teams.
Communication will be a big part of the key to success in our eLearn classroom. I will be using Remind and Actionaly regularly for communication with parents. I appreciate that many of you have already signed up. If you have not signed up for Remind, just text @huenegater to 81010. I have already sent out multiple messages on Actionaly. If you have not received those messages in your email, please call the school office and let them know so we can get you connected. I will be using the Teams chat and post for communicating with the students.
Speaking of our class Teams...it is all set up and ready to go. Please encourage your child to log in and look around our virtual classroom. I have already posted a survey and a question for them to respond to. :-) Teams is where ALL of our class meetings, assignments, and communication will happen as a class. If you can make sure your child can get to the calendar on Teams, that is all they need to know to join our class meetings. They can click directly from the calendar or on the link in our post. (Make sure they check that they are clicking on the correct day and time for our first meeting.)
This website, mrshuene.com, is your place for loads of information. Please take some time to look at the menu items on the top. I have added the lesson plans for this week as well as our weekly video message. The lesson plans are a guide to help you keep your child on track. Thank you, in advance, for encouraging work outside of our live class sessions to make sure all required work is finished and turned in.
There is a lot going on this week that you need to be aware of...
Parents have an opportunity to meet with Mrs. Gengozian and Mr. Sasano on Facebook live at 10:00 on Monday.
On Tuesday, at 10:00, fourth grade students will get to meet with them via a link on our Teams post.
On Monday and Tuesday afternoon, your child's classroom materials will be outside of room 11 from 1:00-3:00 for you to pick up. PLEASE try to get to school and pick up the materials, as we will be going through them at our meeting on Wednesday. The bags are clearly labeled with each child's name, so make sure to grab the correct one.
On Wednesday, our official year begins and I will meet your children on Teams starting at 9:00. Please refer to the lesson plans to see the blocks of time your child will be meeting me throughout the day. I can't wait to get this year started and meet all of your children.
